This Privacy Policy explains how Course Contact ("we", "us", "our"), operator of course.contact, collects, uses and shares information when you visit our website or submit an enquiry. We comply with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. Because sharing your enquiry with training providers is the whole point of our service, this policy is very specific about when that happens.

1. Who we are

Course Contact is a free Australian course-matching service. We are not a training provider — we connect people who want to study with accredited providers who deliver courses. For any privacy question, use our enquiry form.

2. What we collect

Only what you give us in the enquiry form, which may include:

• Your name, email address and mobile number;
• What you want to study — study area, level, specific course or goal;
• How you want to study — mode, location, start timing and schedule;
• Optional context — your role (student, parent, employer, provider), current situation, residency status, and anything you write in the message field.

The optional fields exist to improve matching and funding-eligibility guidance — you can leave them as "prefer not to say" and still use the service. This website sets no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

3. How we use your enquiry

• To shortlist courses and accredited providers that match your answers;
• To send you your options and answer your questions;
• To share your enquiry with matched providers (see section 4); and
• To keep a record of our correspondence.

4. When training providers receive your details

This is the heart of the service, so to be precise:

• Your enquiry is shared only with the providers you're matched with — typically one to three — so they can contact you about the relevant course;
• Providers receive it for that purpose only and are required to handle it under their own privacy obligations;
• We do not sell your information to data brokers or marketing lists, and we don't share it with providers who have no matching course;
• If you'd rather review matches before any provider contacts you, say so in the message field and we'll work that way.

5. How your enquiry is processed

Our enquiry form is delivered to our inbox via a third-party form-processing service (FormSubmit). Your details are transmitted to that service solely to deliver your message to us. Please don't include sensitive information (such as health details, passwords or payment information) in the form — providers will collect anything they formally need during enrolment, under their own policies.

6. Data retention & deletion

We keep enquiry correspondence only as long as needed to provide the service and meet record-keeping obligations. You can ask us to delete your enquiry at any time and we'll also pass the deletion request to any provider we shared it with.

7. Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information we hold about you, and you may complain to us — and, if unresolved, to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).

8. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information, including HTTPS across this site. No internet transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time; the date above reflects the latest version.
